Scott’s Piece Description
She has felt labor pains for more than a week now. Her mind is on hold, for it is her heart that is full – anticipating…loving…feeling. Serving is joy for this mother to be. How fortunate is the babe – coming to a home where it is to be nurtured in kindness.
Ever been in a home where love is a way of life? A home where all are made to feel welcome, wanted and desired – where there is always room for one more.
Have you ever found yourself asking, “What is “it” that they know?”
Have you ever felt the joy of loving – where your interests are not even part of the equation? Look around you – now. See the hunger in every person to be loved. To be loved is the single basic common desire in all men.
Curator Review
There is a quiet reverence in the way this woman stands—arms curved around a bowl, surrounded by an eager gathering of chickens. But this sculpture is not simply about farm life. It’s about love multiplied.
Titled All Her Chicks, this piece becomes a visual metaphor for motherhood, not just biological but emotional and spiritual. The expectant curve of the woman’s belly speaks of life about to arrive. Yet, the flock at her feet—each hen pressed close—already calls her “mother.” They trust her. They know her. And we sense, instantly, that her love is large enough for every single one of them.
Scott Rogers has masterfully blended the sacred and the everyday. Notice how the gesture of offering—simple grain in a bowl—feels like an act of grace. The folds of her dress, the slight tilt of her head, the patient stance—it all evokes a home where kindness is routine and every soul matters.
There are homes where you feel welcomed the moment you step in. This sculpture is one of them. It reminds us that love doesn’t dilute as it grows—it deepens. And there is always room for one more chick in the circle.
