Scott’s Piece Description

She stands as grace, WOMAN. One hand is on her heart (the source of all giving). Her other hand (extended) is both an invitation and offering of all that she has to give.

A “giver” recognizes that his cup is always full. For as soon as love is given, it is replaced and magnified – enhancing ones ability to give even more. Anything ‘of God’ gives – and does so freely. The trees give oxygen, the wind caresses, the earth sustains, the sun offers light, water nourishes. All gifts are given for one reason only – to serve others. May we all live to be the answer to the question: “Where is service? Wherever I Am”.

Curator Review

In The Giver, Scott Rogers distills the concept of selfless service into a figure of striking simplicity and profound emotional resonance. This is a sculpture of quiet revelation. With one hand resting over her heart and the other extended, the figure becomes a vessel of grace, poised between inward conviction and outward offering.

Rogers captures the spirit of giving not through embellishment, but through restraint. The figure’s wrap clings gently to her form, emphasizing natural lines and the subtle sway of the body. Her expression is calm and inward, inviting the viewer to slow down and consider what it truly means to give without expectation.

The composition draws the eye upward, from the grounded stance to the delicately held hands and sculpted features. Though still, she emanates warmth—a visual echo of the artist’s belief that giving multiplies itself. This is a woman at peace with her purpose, anchored by humility yet elevated by divine intent.

What makes this piece powerful is not what it demands, but what it offers: a model of quiet strength, of service born from abundance. Rogers invites us to see generosity not as sacrifice, but as fulfillment.
