Legend is a sculpture by Scott Rogers of a cowboy riding a bull that has lost balance and is tipping over

A Spiraling Tribute to Motion and Power
Legend: A Spiraling Force of the West

Some sculptures tell a story. Legend makes you feel it—in your chest, your gut, your spine.

Scott Rogers’ Legend captures the raw, explosive energy of a horse mid-buck, its rider locked in a battle of balance and grit. But what makes this piece unforgettable isn’t just the subject. It’s the motion.

From the outstretched arm to the coiled hind legs and the surging base beneath, the sculpture doesn’t rise—it twists. It spirals upward in a torrent of movement, almost as if pulled by the wind itself. Scott calls it a “spiraling mass from top to bottom,” and he means that quite literally. Every angle, every curve, is designed to guide your eye in a continuous loop of energy and tension.

Set this piece on a turntable, and you’ll see what Scott sees: it just spins. The sense of motion is so complete, so unified and balanced, that the entire sculpture feels alive. The rider’s posture, the horse’s wild torque, even the ground erupting below—it all turns, breathes, bucks.

There’s no flat side to Legend. Every view reveals another layer of motion, another flash of emotion. It’s sculpture as choreography—muscle, risk, dust, and myth, locked in bronze.

In a world that often rushes past stillness, Legend reminds us that stillness can move you. Especially when it spirals.
